Trivia Crack Answer: 42
About the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
According to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the answer to “life, the universe, and everything” is 42. The novel “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” follows the adventures of Arthur, a young British man who is transported off of the planet Earth moments before it’s destroyed to make an intergalactic bypass (a mundane highway construction project). His savior is Ford Prefect, an alien who has spent the last decade on the Earth researching it for the titular manual, the “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” which is supposedly the most widely read book in the universe. “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” is purportedly an encyclopedia of useful information on all planets, races, and cultures, but is more often than not filled with dubious, sarcastic, and unhelpful pieces of trivia focused around finding alcohol and loose women. Ford Prefect and Arthur travel around the galaxy on a meandering adventure, becoming tangled in bizarre, convoluted plots and conspiracies with Zaphod Beeblebrox, the President of the Galaxy, who has stolen the Heart of Gold, a ship that lets its passengers go anywhere in the blink of an eye. Arthur, homesick for the now-destroyed Earth, is forced to cope with the mind-bending realities of the Universe, especially its seeming randomness, epitomized in the nonsensical question and answer: “What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?” “42.” “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” is considered one of the greatest pieces of science fiction, and was later adapted into a movie of the same name.
