Trivia Crack Question: Which one of these novels was not written by Robert Louis Stevenson?
Trivia Crack Answer: Journey to the Center of the Earth

About Jules Verne is the author of Journey to the Center of the Earth

Journey to the Center of the Earth was a novel written by Jules Verne in 1864. The story mainly revolves around Otto Lidenbrock, a German professor who thinks that there are volcanic tubes in the center of the Earth. To discover the truth and many other things along the way, Otto, his guide Hans, and Otto’s nephew Axel descend into the Icelandic volcano Snaefellsjokull. Along the way, they encounter many natural hazards and prehistoric animals before finally surfacing in Southern Italy from another volcano. Jules Verne is arguably the father of Science Fiction, definitely being one of the first writers of science fiction novels. Each of his novels deal with fictive extrapolations of unknown sciences at the time of their creation. This has led to a few of his novels, Journey to the Center of the Earth included, not aging very well when actual scientific discoveries are made in opposition to theories fictitiously proposed by his novels. Of course, scientific advance does little to take away from Jules Verne’s literary merit and his subsequent influence over speculative and science fiction writing that would emerge after him. Jules Verne is the second most-translated author in the entire world since 1979, exactly between William Shakespeare as number one and Agatha Christie as number three.
