Trivia Crack Answer: John Watson
About John Watson is Sherlock Holmes’ partner
John Watson, otherwise known just as Dr. Watson, is the prominent sidekick to Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is a series of London-based detective stories created by Scottish writer and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes began as a series of short stories that appeared in The Strand Magazine, the first story being A Scandal in Bohemia in 1891. From then until 1927, new adventures continued to appear. John Watson is a doctor and a surgeon who is characterized as being completely scientific, objective and emotionally-detached. Dr. Watson serves as a perfect balance to Holmes. Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes first meet by way of Watson’s friend Stamford. Sherlock Holmes is in need of a flat to rent, and correctly assuming they have compatible personalities, Stamford gives Watson as a recommendation. Watson soon discovers, by way of meeting Holmes’ various eccentric guests, that Sherlock is indeed a private consulting detective. The rest is, as they say, history. Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series appeared in a total of four novels and 56 short stories, with fictional events taking place between about 1880 and 1914.
